Tourism Season Is Coming. Jamaica’s Cannabis Industry Is Growing. It’s Time to Get People Working.

As Jamaica prepares for another busy winter tourist season, businesses across tourism, hospitality and the emerging cannabis economy will need people ready to work.

That is why the Caribbean Cannabis & Tourism Summit + EXPO is adding a Job & Careers Fair to its 2026 programme in Negril.

Taking place on Sunday, November 1, the fair will connect employers with job seekers interested in opportunities across cannabis, agriculture, tourism, hospitality and the industries that support them.

The timing matters.

Jamaica’s main tourism season begins shortly after the Summit. Hotels, attractions, restaurants, transportation providers and experience operators will be preparing for increased visitor traffic. At the same time, the country’s legal cannabis sector continues to create opportunities across cultivation, processing, retail, wellness, tourism and professional services.

Both sectors depend on finding capable people—and many of the skills they require overlap.

Customer service, sales, marketing, administration, security, logistics, compliance, technology, accounting, food and beverage, hospitality and experience development all have a place within this growing economy.

More Than Cultivation

Cannabis employment is often reduced to farming, but the industry needs much more than cultivators.

Licensed businesses and supporting companies require people who can manage customers, operate retail environments, maintain facilities, develop brands, handle inventory, coordinate transportation, navigate regulations and create safe, professional visitor experiences.

As cannabis becomes more connected to wellness, hospitality and tourism, Jamaica will also need workers who understand both the plant and the expectations of the international visitor.

The CCTS Job & Careers Fair is being created to begin making those connections.

For Job Seekers

Admission to the Job & Careers Fair will be free with advance registration.

Participants will have an opportunity to:

  • Meet employers and industry representatives

  • Submit résumés directly to participating companies

  • Learn about current and developing career paths

  • Take part in preliminary interviews

  • Better understand the skills employers are seeking

The fair is intended for experienced professionals, hospitality workers, recent graduates, skilled tradespeople, administrators, creatives and anyone seriously interested in entering these growing sectors.

Job-seeker registration information will be announced shortly.

For Employers

Businesses with active vacancies can reserve an Employer Interview Station for US$250.

Each station will accommodate up to two company representatives and provide a dedicated space to receive résumés, meet candidates and conduct preliminary interviews during the Sunday recruitment session.

Interview Stations are designed specifically for hiring. They do not include product displays, sales activity, sampling or full promotional branding.

Companies seeking broader visibility, customer engagement and the ability to showcase or sell products should reserve a full Caribbean Cannabis & Tourism Summit + EXPO booth. Standard two-day EXPO booths begin at US$500.

Registered EXPO exhibitors with active vacancies may also request access to an Interview Station at no additional charge, subject to availability.

Building the Workforce Behind the Industry

The Caribbean Cannabis & Tourism Summit + EXPO is not only about discussing where the industry is going. It is about helping to build the infrastructure, relationships and workforce required to move it forward.

With the tourist season approaching and Jamaica’s cannabis economy continuing to develop, employers and job seekers need to begin finding one another now.

The CCTS Job & Careers Fair will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Negril, Jamaica. The final venue and session time will be announced shortly.

Businesses interested in recruiting should contact the Caribbean Cannabis & Tourism Summit + EXPO to reserve an Employer Interview Station or discuss participation.
