Ganja Industry Virtual Events Continue to Deliver Amid Pandemic

It’s not seasonal, but we’ve missed out on a lot of events this year due to the ever-present COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual world is taking shape as conferences and industry events have either been canceled or gone completely virtual. We can only expect to see hybrid conferences in the near future.

The remainder of August has a few cool industry events taking place. The most anticipated event on the cannabis calendar in Jamaica, the CanEx Jamaica Conference and Expo is taking a break from their live event format, usually scheduled for September. This year, they are bringing us a few online events. On August 27th they are staging a one-day event on cultivation. They are tackling the question, many have not yet even asked; what are the benefits of indoor vs. outdoor farming for a Jamaican operation. Click the link in the image below to join.

Many event marketing companies have had to grapple with the decimation of their industry. Virtual formats have not taken the place of live events, but it does keep the industry together and allows for more access to interested entrepreneurs, stakeholders and consumers. The CanEx Jamaica team is rolling out a stream of events throughout the remainder of the year. Patrons can look forward to their new 2020 conference series format.

The Day’s Agenda is as follows:

Consider it joining the crowd or really just engaging with readers, but has been inspired to host their own event series. The Cannabis Conference Series was announced last week and it already looks like one edition will not be enough. The founders are looking at hosting events every quarter. The first installment will take place during the last two weeks of September. From September 15th through 30th, the team will host one pertinent morning panel discussion on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. With afternoons left for one-on-one interviews and workshops.  The full agenda will be published on the conference website shortly.

The purpose of the event is to bring both local and international interests together to move the local industry forward. Industry themes to be discussed are Rastafarian Capitalism, Tackling the Local Ganja Stigma, Franchising a Cannabis Business, Starting a Non Plant-Touching Businesses and Vaping for Health. Workshops will include, Drying And Curing Cannabis, Establishing Your Environmental Footprint and CLA programes and much more. Speakers, the full agenda and schedule will be available shortly right here on and on the conference website. Click the image below for more information on our sessions and agenda.

Our friends at Cannabis10X are also hosting their next series of pitch events. We’ll update you when information is released. Here are the results of the last Cannabis10X Virtual Capital Pitch Event last month.

Enjoy the rest of 2020. It’s been a “different” kind of year, but life moves in only one direction and will be there all along the way.
